The following are some introductory notes I am taking in order to better understand an answer given by Shaykh Faraz Khan of the SeekersGuidance institute and its associated site, on the subject of Allah’s Relationship with Time and Space. I know this is a matter that may seem again to be recurring again and again in what I write, but we have to understand that non-Muslims are what they are due Continue reading

Initial response to the comment: ‘Do we really need to discuss the Existence of Allah before talking about the miracles of Islam?’

(Please read the notice concerning our draft articles and works)

By a member of the MuslimAnswers.net Team

Some people may ask whether it is really necessary for us Muslims, in our discussions with non-Muslims or when generally explaining the truth of Islam, to first tackle the issue of the Existence of Allah before moving on to discuss the miracles of Islam, particularly with regards to the miraculous nature of the Qur’an. (Draft Article) Question: “What about Muslims using science to manufacture medicines and the like?”

(Please read the notice concerning our draft articles)

By a member of the MuslimAnswers.net Team

A certain person asked me, after reading the article “(Draft Article) “Shouldn’t Muslims advance in Modern Science?””, that first of all, the point I was trying to make was not very clear, and secondly, about the consideration of a simple thing related to science, such as a Muslim country establishing industries that can manufacture its own medicines, and the like. Introductory notes on the book ‘The Sources of the Quran’

These are some notes I am taking on the book “The Sources of the Qur’an: A Critical Review of the Authorship Theories” written by Hamza Njozi. In fact, this is not a work by a scholar of Islam, but rather the result of research by a lay Muslim. However, I think there are some good points being made in this work, so I thought it was appropriate to mention them and then leave open the path for further, more scholarly and traditionally-based research, for the future. There is also what may be called some weak points in this book I will point these out as well whenever necessary. Continue reading

Objection: ‘So your God creates people to later send them to Hellfire?’

Answered by the MuslimAnswers.net Team, with changes and additions by Mawlana Zameelur Rahman

In the course of the various discussions Muslims have with non-Muslims, one of the questions presented before us goes something like this: “So let me get this straight. You Muslims say that your God creates people and their actions, and then He sends them to Hellfire? Do you know how silly that sounds?” Continue reading

A few initial thoughts on young Muslim men, reports of sexual assaults on women, and the state of the Ummah

I am going to write about some thoughts about a topic more controversial than my normal topics, in the hope that Insha Allah the insights in here will be beneficial for me and for others as well. I am sure that if from those who read this, they may brush off the suggestions as irrelevant and unnecessary, but I still hope that the piece hereunder will be of benefit for many people. A few words on the Qur’an and its effect on people’s hearts

Edited and modified by the MuslimAnswers.net Team

There is one question one of our writers asked concerning the Qur’an and its miraculous effect on the hearts of people. The query went as follows:

There is one question I have concerning one of the reasons given in a number of works concerning the I’jaaz of the Qur’an. Continue reading

On the statement: “But I am under too much stress to fast!”

I know it might be considered somewhat late to talk about the obligatory nature of fasting, given that we are now in the last week of Ramadhan, but I simply could not keep myself from writing something when I heard a certain person saying something along the lines that her job was too pressure-filled, the stress in her position too much, and that it would be unthinkable for her to keep fasts while maintaining the performance required in her position. On small children in elevators, and the need to obey Allah fully

I live in an apartment block, and as we know, there are elevators operating in such buildings. One thing I have always noticed is the tremendous difficulty parents have in keeping their very small children from getting out of the elevator on the wrong floor. This is something I have noticed with many parents, and if there are multiple small children that the parent has to take care of, the matter is even much more stressful for the father or mother; in all cases, they really have to keep an eye on their child, and cannot leave them unattended any time the elevator opens before they get to the correct floor. I am sure many parents and other adults taking care of very small children can attest to this fact. Continue reading
