Comment regarding our translations

بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيم

Salam Alaykum,

Since the time we started uploading works on this site, we have been doing translations from Arabic to English of excerpts relevant to our articles and other works. We also have added to this volume of translations by noting down many of the important points we are taking directly from classical Islamic books.

We want our readers to know that all such translations are imperfect attempts to convey what is being said in the original text. This is primarily due to the fact that no one working on this site is a professional translator and thus many meanings may get lost, and that even in proper translations, some linguistic constructs may need to be rearranged in order to do justice to both the Arabic texts and their English renderings.

This is in addition to the fact that Islam has many technical terms and discussions related to those terms of which we may be unaware as we translate some of the works and excerpts we use. We will do our best to obtain better translations if possible in the future, but other than this, our only hope is that if the readers do notice some mistakes which they consider to be unacceptable, we may be informed of such errors within the relevant page itself, so that we can take appropriate steps to alleviate as many mistakes as possible.

Finally, we ask forgiveness from our readers and ultimately from Allah the Exalted for any mistakes we make in this and other matters.

  1. You mention that you should be contacted about any errors, but I cannot find a contact email address on this website.

    • Salam alaykum,

(Writing this in order to highlight the change) As I have mentioned in the page, whoever wishes to notify us of any mistakes may do so within the page itself, which I think is better than sending an email.

      Wa Salam
